We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and highly organised Estates Supervisor to join our Estates team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. Help deliver high quality operational maintenance services across our Trust’s retained estate and elements of the PFI facilities.

Main duties

As the Estates Supervisor, you will report directly to the Estates Operational Manager and play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of operational maintenance services across the Trust.

You will:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day estates operational maintenance activities
  • Support the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient building and engineering services
  • Ensure services operate in line with relevant regulatory and advisory frameworks, HTMs, technical guidance, and recognised industry best practice
  • Utilise Workforce Planning Protocols, Estates Guidance Notices, and comprehensive audit processes to drive service quality and performance
  • Take a proactive approach to compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement
  • Support and maintain the department’s ISO9001:2015 accreditation standards
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, clinical teams, and wider Trust departments to ensure high standards across the estate

Essential person specification requirements

We are seeking a confident and professional individual with:

  • HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or HNC/ONC with equivalent knowledge and significant post-qualification experience, or previous demonstratable relevant experience in a Maintenance Supervisor role.
  • Specialist qualifications at Authorised Person level in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Medical Gas Systems or Low Voltage Systems.
  • Proven experience of managing complete engineering and operational services, with a strong track record of successful delivery
  • Extensive engineering experience within a large Estates function
  • Knowledge of healthcare estates compliance requirements, including HTMs and technical guidance
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities and proven ability to develop and lead a high performing team
  • A proactive and solution focused approach
  • Commitment to delivering safe and effective services within a healthcare environment
  • Adaptable and flexible in responding to the needs of the service.
  • Available to work outside normal working hours and able to return to work within required response times
