Internal job moves

If you love working for the Trust but are looking for a new challenge, an internal move could be a great opportunity.

That said, don’t assume the job is a sure thing just because you're already part of the team. Check out our tips below to help you make the most of your internal application.

  1. Meet with the recruiting manager, it's a nice introduction to who you are and you can find out more about the role, why they are recruiting and what they are looking for.

  2. Try and be honest with your current manager, it's not always an easy conversation to have but they will appreciate you keeping them in the loop.

  3. Treat it like a normal application, show what you have achieved in your current role, and highlight your knowledge of the Trust's values, ways of working and ambitions.

  4. Research the role and department thoroughly and offer ideas on how you can contribute in the new position.

  5. If your application or interview isn’t successful, don’t be discouraged. Ask for feedback and explore any training or development opportunities to strengthen future applications.

Training and development

If you are interested in developing your career through training or apprenticeships we recommend visiting the Organisational Development section on the Trust's intranet. You can find out more about the support they provide and the range of courses available.
